This site was incredibly fun to work on because I had never used Squarespace prior to this build. Backyard Shelby is a grass roots effort in Shelby County, Indiana. The group set goals to share information for people new to the area, get volunteers engaged, and spread information about community events. Sponsored by the Blue River Community Foundation, Squarespace was ultimately deemed as the preferred site builder because of its ease of use for those not familiar with back-end website settings.
Squarespace features an easy, block style site-builder that made it quick work to embed videos and set-up a Mailchimp connection for newsletter subscribers. In addition, the built in event functionality makes adding event information a breeze.
